behind the wheel..
The head writer is a displaced Texan, now living in Northern California, married to a beautiful woman from the former Russian state of Kyrgyzstan.
His twin daughters, their spouses and six (6) grandchildren are now divided: one (1) daughter, son-in-law, and four (4) grandchildren are living in El Paso, TX (as is the writer's Mother); one (1) daughter, son-in-law, and two (2) grandchildren live a three hour drive south in the San Juaquin Valley.
He has a long history of speaking out of turn and voicing truths and opinions that no one else really wants to know about. This propensity has often landed him in the proverbial hot water, cost him friends, and even a job or two.
He would have it no other way.

pop the trunk
restroom graffiti
late at night, somewhere,
just off Mobius Strip
frames flutter as a projector runs
in an empty, full grand theatre
the image on the silver screen,
framed in black
curtains rustle in the dark, cold air
moves through the room,
damp and welcome
against the summer heat
outside, across the street
wooden chairs form rows
on broken concrete, the night
fills with screams and laughter
at the image cast through rising smoke,
dust, and fluttering insects on the blank wall
framed by decaying brick buildings
at the end of the vacant blockold friends
rest stop
the (word) press
